Just wondering if anyone is up for a potluck on Friday night before the competition?

Doug
I'll go out on a limb and say that both Chris and I would be up for a pot luck Friday night.

Looking forward to my first Competition and this season.

Doug
Hi-I-Que is up for it. How does some ceder plank salmon sound?
That is the part my dad looks forward to.
I'll throw a pot in the ring too!
Sounds good to me. Looking forward to this comp.

Brian

We're in for the potluck. I can probably throw some green jello together. 8)
green jello and lettuce so far, good eats going here I tell you what!
Carla, would you shred some carrots in the jello too, please.
As it isn't turn in day on Friday me and the Mrs. may drop in for some Chatin' and Chewin'. Maybe her triffle for a dessert dish. Big Grin
Gene, we'd be happy to see you both there. Smile

I don't know about the lettuce Sampson, maybe a cobler, or a side. 8)

What do you all usually bring to the pot lucks? and do you cook them ahead of time or there? Remember, some of us are rookies when it comes to competing (even though the pot luck isn't a competition), so we don't know the particulars.
We have brought things that need to be cooked onsite and we have brought stuff that we made at home and brought. It is kinda fun to see what people bring. There has been grilled corn on the cob, chicken wings, jambalaya, cobblers, pies, salads etc..
Bring your fav!
You can prep it ahead of time or cook it on site. It doesn't matter. We will eat anything you come up with. Big Grin
Sampson are you going to smoke your lettuce.
Green Jello and carrots. Brings back some memories.
Also the backyard teams are welcome to come join if they would like too. I know they are not due in until Saturday morning, but come Friday night if you like

Smoked a lot of "lettuce" when I was younger but probably not this time around

What time are we getting together for this? About 7ish maybe?
7pm  Nah 6pm will be better, everyone should be there by then. The Mrs. and I are bringing the watermelons (2) so if someone else thought of that I posted first. Tongue Then after a fine dining experience Big Grin it's off to see the Bees "play ball". Is someone bringing the apple pies and hot dogs? Goes with baseball. That is the old Chevy theme right?, Hoochie, Cy, T, et.al.
Dodger Stadium and the world famous Dodger Dogs are a bit removed from us.
6 or 7 sounds great. I talked to the brinkerhoffs the other day. They said that the fair grounds will not let anyone in after 11:00 am. So hopefully everyone is there before that.
I'll be rolling in around 10am tommorrow, after my son's school program.
