Just when I thought I didn't need to buy another smoker. I found this ad on craigslist:

Pro Q BBQ Smokers. New in box! Brand: Excel 20 (largest on the market), Frontier and Amigo. See website: Pro Q home site
and here's what they're selling for on ebay: Pro Q on ebay.l Just check out the comparisons against the new WSM.

Best smoker's on the market. Each has large cooking capacity. All are 3-in-1, which lets you grill, roast, or smoke food. Fish/meat hanger and accurate temperature gauge are included. Easy set-up. Grills comes with lid, base, and stackers. Each stacker has an eyelet for inserting a temperature probe, and there are vents for accurate temperature control.
PRICES: Exel: now$135.00 (due to popular demand the price went up). Frontier: $80 Amigo: $60

Will be in Salt Lake with the merchandise the week of May 25th. Call Kim at 480-898-3636.
He said that he bought a bunch of these from a business in AZ and will be up here visiting so give him a call if your interested.

I don't think so.

Why Jay? Have you seen/tried these before?
The Pro Q Excel 20 looks very interesting for that price.
It would be nice to have more cooking capacity than my standard WSM at times.
I wonder if the Pro Q has the same ease of use as the WSM?
I have seen them up close and torn apart. Rather thin. It's just a cheapy version of the WSM. Weather would definately put this cooker in it's place. Thus the price difference. I was merely responding to the subject title. This does not compare to the new WSM in any shape or form....but it's better than the ECB's!!
Thanks Jay,
I knew there had to be a catch. Maybe I can get someone to knit a nice sweater for them. That's funny I have an old ECB and doesn't even make a good plant stand  .

For the price I'm going to give one of them a try. If nothing else, I've got a few welding blankets that I can wrap around them to keep temps up. At worst, I've got a fair weather cooker that's a little bigger than my WSM.
It's really not a bad cooker....for the price.
Did anyone get one of these? It looks like the lid sheds the rain over the middle section like the WSM but does the middle shed it over the fire section?? that is the only thing that really bugs me about my WSM's

If you are getting water through the center section and the bottom while your cooking you have a unique/ uncommon problem. Either there is a major dent on the edge of the center section or, its just out or round compared to the bottom.... Try spinning the center on bottom and feel if it becomes tight, then leave it there while cooking..

Hope this helps
