There has been a suggestion that perhaps we should cook this Pro Division contest as a 4 meat contest, so as to have a practice cook for the Sam's Club cook a couple of weeks later.

If enough teams are interested in 4 meats for the Pro's then we will do it that way.

So Low and Big Johnson's are interested in a 4 meat cook, if you are interested please add your voice on either side, 3 meat or 4 meat Pro Division.
4 is good.
Due to popular demand - this event will be a four meat event for the Pro's...!
Next question. Garnish or no garnish?

Well I think if you are going to duplicate the turn ins for a KCBS cook go with KCBS turn ins and standards and that would make garnish optional, and so I'd opt for it!
That's the way I was leaning too.

So if someone wanted to be a spectator, what is the best advice or schedule?
Come on by on Friday afternoon and evening, introduce yourself and ask a few of the questions that form on your lips.

Most folks don't start their fires until the middle of the night, so if you've a hankering to see the fires, you'll need to be around between midnight and 5 AM, then for the last minute things, the judging starts at 11:00 on site, and the last Pro turn in's are at 2:00 then there are the Backyard Turn ins, and then awards around 4:30.

If you want to get a first-hand view of the competition, consider volunteering to be a judge. Post that you would like to judge in the judges area of this site and watch to see how many more judges we need. Show up a little before 0930 on Saturday, take our on-site training (0930 - 1000) and spend the next few hours judging some of the best BBQ anywhere. If we don't get enough certified judges, we'll appoint those who attend the on-site training that morning. Hope to see you there.
