Welcome to the Utah BBQ Organization

The organization is made up of many members not only in Utah, but in many surrounding states too, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington, as well as friends all over the country.

The organization is here to promote BBQ as a pastime and a 'sport', that can help bring together many good cooks, and other people who are interested in learning to cook "low and slow" with smoke and heat.

There are cooks that enjoy other outside cooking techniques, Dutch Oven, Open Fire, as well as Grilling, not just for the purists that only cook over wood, we have members that cook over charcoal, wood, charcoal and wood, with wood pellets, and even with gas, (both propane and natural), and some even have electric pits, some of these we use at home, some we can use in competition, some we can't use in certain competitions!

There are events and competitions throughout the year, the busy season appears to be between May and October this year, further information is available inside the forums, some competitions will be aimed more at the backyard cooks, some will be for KCBS style cooks.

If you have an interest, come on in and have a look round.

You don't even have to register to read our forums, but if you would like to post and ask or answer questions, you will need to register, it takes a couple of minutes to register, your registration will be approved by the administrators, that may take as long as a couple of hours if you do it at night, once you are a registered member, you can add threads, posts, and pictures, send or receive Private Messages and emails!

The organization is run as a non-profit, all monies taken into the organization are there to be used for the betterment of BBQ in the region, there will be classes available over the year, most will give people the chance to see some of the standard methods used to improve your own BBQ techniques, and to help make you the grill guru of your backyard.

Managing members, have that title under their name when they post on threads, the other titles used on this forum are, Registered, Full Member, Moderator and Administrator, so if you have a question about the organization you can ask one of the Managing Members, if you need help with the forums, you can contact the Moderators or the Administrator.
