The Pro's will be doing a 4 category cook, chicken, ribs, pulled pork, brisket, full standard overnight competition cook.

The Pro's will be following KCBS rules and regulations, they will be competing for a total of $5,000.

The Backyard contest will be for the grand prize of the grill, winner take all.

Re: Wild West Showdown applications - mjerdmann - 04-03-2009 09:06 AM

Q. Will we need a current food handlers permit?

Re: Wild West Showdown applications - Pegleg - 04-03-2009 09:30 AM

Since you are not serving to the public you nor the pros do not need a food handlers permit.

OK I have a 2A-10 BC FIRE EXTINGUISHER, but the backyard application says you need a "ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE A 2A-40 BC FIRE EXTINGUISHER" So were do I get one off those and how much an I going to need to spend on it?

Re: Wild West Showdown applications - tex-mex / Idaho - 04-05-2009 09:56 PM

Can I cook both in the Backyard, and also cook with the Big Boys ???

- SoEzzy - 04-06-2009 03:19 PM

I believe that it's pick one or the other tex-mex / Idaho.

The pro's will be doing the 4 meat category's and right through the turn in's for the Pro will be the cook for the Backyard, (cooking 2 category's).

Need a comment from the board to confirm, but my guess from previous contests is the pick one from two!

Ok, OK, I just thought I could slip in the back door.....................

So I guess it will be the Big Boys for me ............just take it easy on the Rookie

I will give it my best shot !!

- crashpilot - 04-16-2009 08:34 PM

I sent my application in a couple weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. Who do I talk to find out if I got my application in soon enough for an RV spot??

Thanks in advance,
Sean

Re: Wild West Showdown applications - Cyclops - 04-16-2009 09:54 PM

Has there been a ruling from the board on Backyard qualifier? Many contests will not allow a cook to participate in a backyard category if they have cooked "Pro" in the last year.

sampson;p="15353 Wrote:Crap, I'm going "backyard" on this one! Still doubtful I'll win though...

Although I believe that Sampson and other pros were kidding about entering because of the good looking grill as a prize. Jim you are correct with the ruling on the applicants, and thanks for stating so.

- BBQMama - 04-21-2009 05:21 PM

Do we know how many teams have signed up so far?

Re: Wild West Showdown applications - mjerdmann - 04-24-2009 09:37 AM
