I came across a receipe for Jakarta Chicken Sate so I thought I would give it a try. It turned out realy good and I would recommend it to anyone that is interested.
6 boneless skinless chicken breast
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup molasses
3/4 cup Thai Peanut Sauce
3 T finely chopped onion
1 T fresh lime juice
1 T chile paste or hot sauce
Cut chicken into cubes. Place chicken on skewers. Combine soy sauce and molasses. Mix well. Combine 1/4 cup of the sweet soy sauce and 1/4 cup of the peanut sauce, the onion, and lime juice in a shallow dish and mix together. Roll the chicken skewers in mixture. Arrange the sates on the hot grate and grill turning with tongs, until lighty browned and cooked through.
Place the remaining peanut sauce in a small bowl and spoon in the remaining 2 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce and chile paste into the center. The maotion of dipping the sates into this sauce will mix the ingredients together. Enjoy.
I can supply the receipe for the Thai Peanut sauce if anyone needs it.
My wife was a little worried about this receipe but it turned out great and I was even supprized at how good it was. My children even liked it.
