Inject or not? - Pigout - 05-23-2012 06:05 AM

I've never used injections...question?..inject or not, is it just a personal preference? I am still new so I thought I would ask. If so pork butts...brisket? Different kinds of injections for different meats. So many choices so little time...just wondering...Yes I'm letting everyone know I'm still a rookie.

I dunno I think it's a personal thing. I inject my brisket and butts have a different one for each. But again that is just me

I agree with HDBBQ it's a personal thing but I also inject both

Usually when I am cooking butts and briskets I'm practicing. Injecting or a simple brine soak works great for butts. Briskets don't soak well they really need to be injected. There are some great injections out on the market or you can make your own. You should try it and see if it's something that you like.

I don't inject. . Except for Turkey whether I brine it and smoke it or just deep fry it. . I would agree its a preference type thing but I would think low and slow don't inject. . Hot and fast inject. . . Just my two cents. . Good luck Bro!!
