StoveTec Wood Stove buy one send one to Haiti? - norm - 01-22-2010 05:28 PM

This is a wonderful stove design that many in the world especially those in Haiti could really benefit from now and for many years ahead($9each). If your looking for great little versatile unit for emergencies, s'mores, dutch oven, pressure canning outside, grilling ,burning twigs for fun, etc. They are constantly developing new technologies for stoves through Aprovecho http://www.aprovecho.org/lab/index.php even if you believe global warming isn't real and would like to eat a roasted spotted owl over Al Gore set aflame  , you'd have to admit that there is a need to improve air quality for the poor that cook in their homes or lack there of. Thanks for your time and consideration. I thought it somehow related to BBQ however a stretch it may be. I'm not at all affiliated with these guys, just stumbled upon them in my web wanderings. Smile

I like the idea of one for BBQ competitions, so I looked at the Wood - Charcoal one, for $40.00 they are not bad, I was thinking 35 minutes chicken thighs for some extra time in bed on turn in day!

And the send one where it might help out for $9.00 looked like a good deal for our third world friends...but they weren't sure if Idaho counted!

Running for cover!

And it's small enough to fit on your chair-side table to warm your spot of tea so as not to disturb Doug while he's cooking. Tongue
