Dutch Oven Apple Pie - Frankenswine - 09-20-2009 08:52 PM

After trying Matt's apple pie in Id, I had to try one for myself. I didn't try the fancy crust that he does, but for my first try I was happy with it...

If I remember right tho, they weren't in the do's. But I know I remember how good they were!!! I've got the recipe around here somewhere.

Sorry folks missed the D.O. part on the first thread. My bad. Vics pies were awsome regardless. The Mr.s and I have done pies and cakes both in the d.o.'s - good stuff. Most times the only bad food is just burnt or raw out of them.

Oh ya nothing like Vics pies, now those were good...

Gene your last post made me laugh when I read it-
My interpretation- "Most food out of DO's are good unless it's burnt or raw or seasoned poorly or doesn't taste good, but other then that it tastes good out of a DO."

Please send burnt pies such as these right on up here to the Cache Valley... We'll, ummm, dispose of them shall we say 8)

Oh, were those tasty pies. Smoke ring and all. Those Soldiers and their families thought so too. Hey Doug, thanks for the pics. Brought back good memories.
Some pics soon from Okinawa, I promise folks.

Those were some tasty pies. Big Grin Just wish Vic had sent one home with me like he did with Sampson. I think Gene even got one of them.

Re: Dutch Oven Apple Pie - Gene - 09-23-2009 09:48 PM

He did. It almost made it "home" too.
