Smith's Apple Wood
I bought some apple wood logs from Smith's here on 33rd, smoked some ribs this weekend with them. The wood didn't seem to burn very clean. Kindof bitter. Wondering if anyone has used this and what they thought. It has bark on which I wasn't able to get off, I'm sure this had some affect. Wondering about your experience/suggestions.

Re: Smith's Apple Wood
I've always heard that leaving the bark on will give it some bitterness. I've always just peeled it off just in case and never experienced the bitter taste...

Since buying my first couple of bundles from Standard, I've never even thought of buying from anyone else. They are far superior to what you're going to get in a grocery store or big box outlet... JMO for what it's worth

I agree, moisture content in wood is key, go with Standard Wood, and also stay away from Home Depot too. Just my opinion
