Large smoker on KSL
Anyone need a large smoker? Looks like it could use some cleaning but doesn't look too bad.

Huh...I think if I had the $$ and a place to park it, I wouldn't mind buying it to make a project out of...

It does look like someone has spend a lot of time on it. By the looks of it, he just wants his garage back and enough to feel good about it.

Re: Large smoker on KSL
Picked it up. It's a nice size. Thick cooking chamber. Even has a long baffle. I updated the thermometers and gave it a much needed paint job.
The downside: no leaf springs and a thin walled firebox that's got a year or two before it rusts through. Does anyone know if I can line it with firebrick and refractory cement like a fireplace to save it?
The upside: $450!

Hey Norm! Nice score  Looks like a 500 gallon propane tank?? As far as the firebox goes, I would take a good look at how well it is fastened (Welded) to the cooking chamber, it may also be rusted pretty bad, and not handle the extra weight of the bricks? Just a thought

See ya next week

Looks like it could use a bigger exhaust too. That pipe isn't very big. Good score though!

Re: Large smoker on KSL
Thanks for the advise Jay. Maybe I can put an exhaust fan on the pipe nipple on top then I can advertise that my barbeque sucks. :?
Yeah Dave, I think it is 500 gallon but guy didn't know. He's a baker that bought it for company parties from the guy that built it.
Joe, What mods would you make? If you don't mind my asking. I know it has a way to go before it can truelly be the Mother Of All Barbeques. Tongue
Thanks,

Norm,
I noticed in the pictures on KSL that the guy also had an old tracter or 2 in the garage. Any idea if he wants to sell those as well?
