Here's something interesting...

In the confirmation email for the contest, KCBS now wants us to report the percentage of CBJs slated for the tables. They also want it 90 days prior to the contest.

I'll get the judging app out soon.

As a cooking team, you mean? The Board and I have some things to discuss, but I imagine the registration will be up in a week or two.

Some of the things to be discussed would be any additional categories, such as Open, Dessert, Sauce, Sausage, etc...if anyone has suggestions, send them to me.

I am wondering if they are still in need of CBJ's for Rock N' Ribs. My wife and I would be interested if so. We would love to fill out and application even just to be a back-up. Thanks a lot.

It is indeed a great venue, although it's nothing like Snowbird. You are smackdab in the middle of downtown Salt Lake City. It's a great time!

A couple questions. What is the "buck a cup". And on the side catagories the top three split the pot evenly?

Buck-a-Cup is where participating cooks will cook some extra butts (provided by a sponsor) and turn them in to be sold for a buck a portion for charity. Last year it was MDA.

For the ancillary categories, the winnings would really depend on how many entries there are. Last year, I believe it was winner take all, while the year before it was divided among the top 3.

Memberships:

Individual ($30) - 10%
Team ($50) - 20%
Business ($200) - 25%
