Future Arizona contests.
There's a strong chance that there will be contests in Arizona that will not be KCBS sanctioned contests but will follow KCBS rules to the letter and use as many CBJ's that we can muster. They will have $5000-$10,000 in prize money and will have a 'State Championship' proclamation from the Governor. Therefore they will be qualifiers for the Jack.

Question is....how many of you would travel to Arizona for such a contest?

Sounds good. I'd definitely put an AZ contest lesson on my wish list. Happy Birthday Jaybird.

BLACK IRON BBQ WOULD CONSIDER AN ARIZONA CONTEST. I WAS RAISED IN THE PHOENIX AREA AND WOULD LOVE AN EXCUSE TO GO BACK.

Well it won't be until the fall so you have plenty of time to practice!!

In fact alot of these will be through the winter...November through April

Re: Future Arizona contests.
One of the questions on my mind is the "where" in AZ?

I know once your packed and rolling, it's as far to one part as another, the only difference is the time and the gas, but there's a 500 mile difference between the Northern and Southern borders or an extra $140.00 to throw in the pot just to get there and back again.

Inside the 500 mile mark from SLC is about my limit, putting Flagstaff at just past the limit, (but I sure might go that far).

Respice, adspice, prospice. Latin proverb.
Respice = you didn't use enough spice the first time! adspice = you ought to add spice, you know? prospice = you should be an advocate for spice!

We'd consider AZ contests. Love to be able to compete through the winter

Re: Future Arizona contests.
I feel events November thru April would be great. As we all know, contests during that time of year are pretty rare in this region. I think it is a good idea, and I would jump at the chance to compete in Arizona when my 2 jobs won't get in the way.

Hey Jay,
I think that is a cool idea. Especially for those of us who live in snow covered country. I think Richard and I would be interested in it for sure. By the way congrats on the Grand a couple of weeks ago. See you at Snowbird.
