Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
I didn't fire up the smoker, But I did make some Atomic Buffalo Turds, Bacon Wrapped Smokies
(about 100 of each) and a Beef Roast in the house oven.
Boy, They just don't taste quite as good as they do in the smoker!
Sorry, no pics today. The camera battery is dead.
Sad

Morning after note. When we cooked the Jalapenoes in the Atomic Buffalo Turds in the house, we all ended up with really bad headaches. We still have the headaches the next morning. Better do these outside next time!

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
We smoked the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, sausages with veggies and grilled the steak and bananas.

Thanks for the challange! It gave us something fun to do on the sunday before the big sunday, which we will be doing a much larger cook.

I don't believe I've ever seen a two crust pecan pie.
And it's not pe-can, that's what truckers use. Ain't that right, :?: Sampson.

Hey Vic, I guess you just gave up on the appetizer division? So I win, here's my pic

It's an old family recipe. My mom served this at most of our get togethers

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
Not just yet Sampson, This is my smoke pickle entry given to me by a cat on his way to the liquor store next door. I never thought that I would have a chance at a win with these bad boys. Vic clearly said the rules were "everyone to cook their entire meal on there BBQ. I really don't think Frito's out of a bag can claim to be a bonafide winner. Now my entry I'll give you taste, because I really like Frito's, but I know I got ya on tenderness and most of all presentation. Don't ask me for the winning recipe because Sampson we spoke just this morning on presentation and look at ya didn't hear a word I said. Love ya bro. LOL

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
So far looks like T is in the lead on the Appetizer division. Sorry sampson.
But I know some one out there can give T a run for his money.
(by the way my wife says Smoked Pickels  Thats just wrong. As for me I can't say they look to appetizing. But I would have to try them before making a judgement.) Z get some pictures up and maybe you could take the lead. Those poppers sound pretty good.
And the rest of you should start bragging up your creations. Idea
Oh and Gene That's the same kind of pie you tried at R&R last year and the same one you took off Sampsons back porch Remember.
I should really call it and Apple Pecan pie I guess. There is more apples than pecans. It is smoked with pecan wood also.

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
Well as a CBJ I have to say they both score low! Sampson.... your presentation needs some work ( Paper Plate Thang) T, your tooth pics look like you just change the oil in your RV Tongue and the top left pickel seems a bit shriveled (sp) I will wait to see what Z comes up with, Bring them on! Brian you have the last word on this one, as that you started the thread

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
Hey all, we finally figured out how to post pics which was harder than cooking the meal, we added them to our first post. And I can't pick a favorite between Sampsons and T's appetizers but i might just need another beer.

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
Vic,
It was a apple raspberry pie Sampson misplaced from his back porch. Oh, and was it good. Check your 12-13-07 posts/pics. Lattice top, red fruit. I'm drooling on the bib I have around my neck. I can't get that close to the keyboard. Something about sore wrists, carpal tunnel, etc.
Kathys' cafe in Perry had a apple raspberry pie that was the bomb!! I like pecan pie also.
So the next time I see you driving thru Logan I'll have to tail you to see if you are trying to feed our friend in N. Logan again.

Re: Sunday BBQ Challenge
I agree I think Z presentation is first class. I'm going to have to step up my presentation to the family I guess. I don't know if they would apprectate it though. All they are worried about is that it taste good and getting back to their video games.
And I took Sampson an Apple pecan pie also someone else must have took that one too. Sorry Sampson. If you invite me up for some fatties I might just bring another one with me.
