Gas grill - stainless cook surface or cast-iron?
I am buying a new gas grill - just for the quickie-type jobs - not for smoking - and am wondering if any of you have preferences on stainless steel cooking grids or the old cast-iron. it seems like a well-seasoned cast iron is going to stick less than stainless. any thoughts?

Traeger uses porcelain coated grills and not a lot sticks on them especially if you use a spritz of a grill spray. Hot pan - cold oil food won't stick so they say.

Both are nice, but you can't go wrong with cast iron. It cleans easily, is non-stick, leaves great grill marks, and lasts forever.

Ditto what Gumbo said, I have cast iron grates on my grill and really like them. To clean them, I shut the lid on the grill and turn up the heat and let the fire do most of the work then run a wire brush over them. I use a pastry brush and run a little oil on the grates while they are still warm as well.
