For us out of staters- anyone have good directions on how to get there? Maybe an address or something? I remember how to get to Kearns High School and I hear that it is close to that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks- can't wait to get smokin' again!

The BBQ stuff will be located on the South end of the swimming pools (just past the buildings on 4800 W). Probably the easiest way to get there from the North is to take I-15 to I-215 South. Take the 4700 South exit off of I-215. Turn left on Bangerter Highway. Turn Right on 5400 South (go by T's resturaunt). Turn left on 4800 W. Sight is a couple of blocks on the right hand side. Kearns High School is on the left.

Sorry Gene. You are definitely right. I forgot to put the detour in the directions of stopping at T's. The problem is that he won't be there anyways.

Set up on Friday can be at anytime. T is usually there really early. We plan on being there around 8:30 or so (need to drop the kiddo off at school first).

Yo, we can load in at 7:00 am. I will be there at that time and the gate will be open than. for those of you that have a GPS the address is 5640 s. 4800 w.
The competition is in the south parking lot. For those of you that need to go to a store. If you continue South on 4800 w. past the facility you will come to a shopping center on the West side of the street at the light. This area should take care of all of your needs. Everyone drive safe, and lets have a great BBQ weekend.

ta know KCBS need to look at the population density in these here parts of the good old USA.. KCBS should have some sliding scale forthe number of teams needed to be a qualifier. Utah has only 40 folks per square mile. That is about the same as Kanas but if yu figure in the nearby states we dont compare at all to most of the USA

I dont believe KCBS or any other sanctioning body cares about the population per square mile. Its first up to the organizer of the event to make it successful for the cooks, community and himself, then he decides if he wants it sanctioned by kcbc A perfect example of this is Craig Co contest. A 35,000.00 contest and 30 plus teams and still growing. Craig has 1910 people per sq. mile. Keep in mind you can have 15 team and 25 team qualifiers with out sanctioning.
But I prefer to cook sanctioned contests
