Left overs from the freezer...
Emily and I were wanting to cook something but an all day smoke just wasn't in the cards so we dug into the freezer, found some PP just sitting there and so we tried a couple of ideas we had seen done by others before that we had been meaning to do and just not gotten around to... Here's some pics of the results.

Started with some el cheapo biscuits that we rolled out a bit...

Then a bit of PP and aged white cheddar.

After closing them up and hitting 'em with a bit of kosher salt and sesame seeds, we put them into a muffin pan to bake. And got this.

Another view, mid-hit!

Then we broke out some puff pastry and using the same ingredients did something like this...

And after rolling, slicing and baking. They came out like this.

Here's a crummy close up, I wish you could see how light and flaky these came out.

Then finally, since we still had some of the puff pastry left, we hit it with butter, walnuts and some cinnamon sugar. Then we topped it off with an almond flavored glaze! Dang, how can something so simple be so good!!!

All in all, a great way to kill an afternoon with my favorite assistant...
