International Dutch Oven Society Spring Convention
Hey all, we have a great Dutch Oven event coming up in Farmington.
I went down last year and put up a display for the Utah BBQ Association.
It was a great event. Several of the guys from our organization let us use their brand new smokers to display. We got a lot of exposure and even a few new members to sign up! A great time was had by all, and I met a lot of really cool new friends. They were giving away samples of Dutch Oven food that was incredible!

I know that some of the Managing Members expressed an interest in helping out this year. but we could really use some more support.
If you would like to help out at the event or if you have a newer or a unique cooker we could use to display, please let me know.
We really need to support these type of events. They are what keeps us moving forward and creates the brotherhood among us!

What: IDOS Spring Convention
Where: Legacy Events Center (Formerly Davis County Fairgrounds)
151 South 1100 West
Farmington, UT
When: Apr 9, 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Description: Come check out and sample some great Dutch Oven food and support Dutch Oven Cooking!

At 11:00 AM I will be doing a class on solar cooking using the sun as your heat source. I will be cooking whole wheat bread and maybe a nice SPAM loaf to go on it. (I threw that last part in for Chris.)

Bud, we could use your help. Bring a camp chair if you have one so you have a place to sit.
Thanks
SoEzzy, what are we going to cook this year? I think we should do something other than my usual...

Yeah Mike, I'm getting sick of those unABT's!

I'd like to throw a couple of butts in overnight and bring them ready for samples, wrapped panned and coolered.

Larry, you must have bought stock in the Spam Company!
Chris, That's what I was thinking too. Pork butts would be the easiest and give us the most to demo.

The mystery was what kind of army surplus meat that was they fed us in school. In the motor pool we were told to mix all brands of oil together in a big drum. I'm guessing that also applied in the mess hall.

RE: International Dutch Oven Society Spring Convention
So, does anyone have a good looking cooker we can show off? WSMs are great.
My cookers are showing the effects of winter and I don't have much time to make them all pretty, with taxes due on the business in a few days and such. We could also use a couple of folks to help serve bbq.
Thanks guys, let's support the Utah BBQ Organization!

Jeff, We would appreciate the help. If you like to talk about BBQ, you are an asset! Do you happen to have a food handlers permit? If so, could you bring it? We will be serving BBQ Sandwiches.
Thanks Jeff

Larry, Mike & Bud-wiser did sterling service , promoting Utah BBQ Organization.

We could have sold Larry's sauce recipe 3 or 4 times over! Wink

I didn't make a chance to go through to the other building and so I missed seeing you... or tasting your shark, WTG Omar!
