Freeway Mazda Ogden June 17/18
Freeway Mazda Ogden is having a BBQ contest, Pro and Backyard divisions.

Pro entry $75.00 4 meats, chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork, brisket
Backyard entry $35.00 2 meats, chicken, pork ribs.

Pro's will load in Friday and the cooks meeting will be 7:30 PM Friday night.
Turn in's will be 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30 Saturday 18th.

Backyard can arrive Friday if the choose, otherwise they need to be on site by 7:30.
Turn ins for Backyard will be 2:00 and 2:30

From what I understand they expect at least half a dozen or more.

What's the rules for being a active spectator? I would like to come and watch and meet a few of you fine folks and see what this competition thing is all about.

I think we're gonna need some more wood here!!!

Shouldn't be a problem. I attended the Smokin' On The Ridge event in Lehi week before last as a spectator and ended up video taping interviews of most of the competitors along with the awards ceremony. Just make sure not to interfere when it's close to turn-in time Big Grin.

You can trim but no Seasoning the chicken or ribs until after the meat inspection.

Meat inspection will be done after your arrival, as Curtis says, you may trim meat before inspection but you may not marinade, brine or season the meat before the inspection.

If you use a technique that takes a longer time, like a marinade or a brine, just arrive earlier and once set up, come find me, SoEzzy with So Low Bar-be-que, and I'll do the meat inspection, ready to get you underway.

If you want to arrive Friday afternoon or evening, we are having a pot luck at 7:00 Friday evening, bring a dish, if you want to hang and eat... or even to just eat! Wink
