There is a candy store in Heber that sells used ones however you will have to clean out the coating on the inside and it is a pain. I recommend you get a new one from Wasatch.

Over pack salvage barrels, http://www.wasatchsupply.com/products/pr...ategory=98 55 gallon was $66.00 last time I inquired, 85 gallons were $114 (if memory serves).

Respice, adspice, prospice. Latin proverb.
Respice = you didn't use enough spice the first time! adspice = you ought to add spice, you know? prospice = you should be an advocate for spice!

James let us know what you find out. I wouldn't mind maybe dabbling with a drum as well. I was way impressed with how they build them and use magnets...

Those refurbs from Wasatch are great barrels for the money. They only have a light oily spray inside to prevent rust. I have one sitting out back right now just waiting to come to life. Once it's done, I'll be getting rid of the last of my 22.5 WSM's. I totally love cooking on drums...

Sampson do you use magnets on the intake and exhaust or how do you control the air flow through the drum? I've seen some pretty cool ideas out there...

Yeah, I've tried lots of other things but to me the magnets work best on the intake. They are infinitely adjustable... I don't use anything on the exhaust.
