Pitmasters...?
So what did everyone think about the start of Season 3 of Pitmasters?
Tri-Tip slow and low... WOW! How can you mess up Tri-Tip or a Wagu brisket...?
I heard R&R made it on the show... True?

RE: Pitmasters...?
Umm yeah I dunno. I like the fact they got away from season 2 style of cooking and back in to comp style, but I still think they should do it just like season 1.You mean to tell me your going to take 3 teams for all the teams at the different comps then they are going to put em up against each other and then do a season Finale of like what 8 to 12 teams pending on how many weeks the show got and then BAM they are the BBQ pitmaster? hhmmmmm I guess we stay tuned to see what happens

Rumor has it maybe a possible....Guess we will have to see if they make the cut Cool

Yo, just wondering what rules do they cook under? I noticed she separated the money meat before cooked, and cooked it separate to attain bark all around? I also didn't notice the judges cleaning there pallet between bits, just saying.

I think they have thier own rules if any. It's kind of funny watching them say scripted lines, they're not good at that part. I have noticed that Lang is supplying their props, they always have that 36 to the left and once in a while you see a Lang banner. Last night they did a quick scan of the spectator line where everyone had on a red KCBS shirt.

RE: Pitmasters...?
Here is a couple of clarifications from Melissa.

Just to clarify a couple of things- this was a tv show, and no sanctioned rules applied. Just to be clear, we checked on separating the butt with the producers before we did it (very quietly though!)

Last year, the rule about the hog must be cooked whole was clearly announced to everybody before we were allowed to start prepping. Whether Craig heard it or not or it didn't strike him that cutting out the ribs were violating that I don't know, the producers thought it did. I could see it both ways. Their show, their rules. It did teach us a lesson to ask for clarification on everything and not assume any rules were in place.

Thanks
Melissa
