My wife gave me an Oklahoma Joe like this some 20 years ago.. I never did use that gift voucher.... hmmmmm... How would this cook.. I would prefer just the smoker for backyard use..

Crazy to see all of these cats that have pits, and know one knows about them until they want to sell them. Like some that I reached through the restaurant, bought a stick burner and found out that without knowledge of fire control it was not easy to achieve a decent product. The firebox says a lot. This only tells me that we need to get the word out more that there is help. To answer your question about how would this cook, with the right driver I'm sure it would do just fine.

I know the pits well, actually there are two restaurateurs that own them, Firehouse BBQ, and his cousin Allen Terripan Station BBQ have had them for years. They are good pits. Don't forget Randy. I'm an old school stick burner.

Couldn't build it for $1800. The main chamber is small the vertical makes up for it.

I wonder if it is the 16" or 20"

wouldn't it be hard to keep the temps over 225 in the tower? more for turkeys?? than butts

I guess this co bought out OK joes.

no I guess horizon still makes the original ok joes but it was bought out by new braunfuls and or charbroil... I wonder if my new Ique 110 could control the fire box temps??

I cooked on a borrowed pit in New Mexico similar to that set up, but with a square box, and it got pretty hot over there. He had plates in his. Was easy to get to temp after making a few adjustments. I cooked in both area's. Got a call in chicken. Are you gonna get it or not?!!
