4 Days!! - do we have anyone in backyard yet??

This cookoff was last minute so the awards are nice - but the UtahBBQ.org won't know payouts until we know how many are coming! so get signed up!! Smile
Awards are waiting on the decals - but they are fun and appropriate! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...=1&theater

Weather is looking exactly as we expected - BRRR!! - but there is PLENTY of room for your RVs so you don't have to freeze.
Our potluck will be indoors - there are bathrooms and there is plenty of warm space to visit and stay warm - we will have soup, coffee and cocoa all night to keep us toasty.
Des Mag BBQ will be doing a BBQ Buffet in the restaurant on Sat - so let your friends and family know to come stop by - if you donate some of your cooked meat to the Buffet you will get a cut of the sales (just to help defer costs for everyone!) We hope to see you all out for one more cook this year!

Just picked up a brisket for this weekend. At a little over 20 pounds its the biggest I've seen this year. They sure have came up in price since last time I bought one.

Judges for the FYPOBC,
Show up around 0930 Saturday morning if you want to particpate in the certification training "dry run." For those new judges, you'll get all of the academic portion of the training that will educate you on how to judge. For experienced and KCBS certified judges, you'll can give me the benefit of your experience to make the training better. Thanks for coming out.

Woo-hoo! Brisket has been on for an hour and a'half and I'm fightin' cold, wind, and rain but the Lang is holding its own. Going through some hickory though. Adding a stick every 15 minutes. Temp is holding between 225-250. Tell you what, if this weather holds through tomorrow, you've named the comp exactly right. Thank God I've got a metal cover over my patio and smokers. Having fun.
