I probably am not the first to mention this but IMHO a gas grills' best function is to burn the stuck bits of stuff off the grills in your smoker.
Far easier than wire brushes, foil, pressure washing or the like.

It's also useful for starting a chimney full of charcoal over the side burner.

I will say that in the summers we use ours for any hot meals, so that we can cook quickly without adding more heat to a hot house and then having to pay to cool it back down again.
