Utah BBQ Scene...
Hey... I just wanted to send a shout out to everyone and let y'all know that I think Utah has some of the best BBQ folks anywhere. I hope I'm not violating any rules or stepping on anybodies toes here. As newbie getting into the scene and will be participating in my first few backyard comps this summer I've ran into some great folks! Everyone here on this forum has been great. In the last week I've been to Snider Meats and spoken with the fine folks there. Will spent alot of time helping me with some questions and was a wealth of great information. Those are some first class folks running a first class operation! James P. and Steve over @ BBQ Pitstop for contributing and making today's class happen. All the guys who were there, most were seasoned competitors were all great and all helped me out and passed on some great info to me as well. I just feel very blessed and fortunate to be surrounded by a great BBQ community here in Utah! Thanks everyone! I'm walking on cloud 9 today... God Bless you all!

Glad your experience was a good one! There's never a dumb question to be asked, we were all there at one point in our bbq journey.. I am wide open for any questions you may have... Not that I'm all that and a bag of chips, but I can eliminate a lot of "beginners" frustrations!

Rock-witch BBQ.... You were at the class with Harry Soo and you cook on a Akorn Kamado. Is this Chad? If it is then Welcome to the site. Great group of guys here and they are always willing to help and answer any question.

April 27 is a great day for you to come out and compete in a back yard event. You can get some feedback and score's (from the judges) just to see where you are at and what you need to practice on. I will be there come by and say hi.... Its' here in Salt Lake City @ Vally Fair Mall
