Re: QN4U Class
Sorry Gene, by the time you posted this, we were almost all hard at work at the class, there were a couple that had to finish work or longer drives that arrived a little later.

All in all it was a kick a$$ time, thanks to Brent & Kim for such a good and complete class, and for all the other cooks who made the class and competition what it was.

Learned a lot of stuff that will hopefully makes us even more competitive in future contests, I think everyone upped their game and the contest was tough because of it.

In the mini competition here are some results.

GC Utah Smoke
RGC Dragonsmoke
3rd Tumbleweed

I'll check out the whole of the honor role as soon as I can and get as much posted as I can.

I'd like to thank Doug for his hard work and patience, Frankenswine & Ezzygore took 1st in Ribs! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!

Re: QN4U Class
Wanna have some real fun at your next cook-off? After everyone dumps their live coals in the ash barrel, slap the lid on good and tight and wait for the fun. Just make sure your ready to catch a very warped drum lid falling from 50 feet.

Re: QN4U Class
This is what they are talking about. He placed the lid on the barrel, clamped it on tight, made about three rolls of the barrel and the lid blew off!
It sounded like a bomb going off with dust and charcoal flying everywhere. He was lucky it did not take his head off.
DO NOT PUT A LID TIGHTLY ON A CHARCOAL BARREL!

Re: QN4U Class
Here is a couple of pictures of the winners, I did not get them all though, the battery died on the camera.
I would like to say thanks to all of those that helped sponsor this class for us. Thanks Brent and Kim (awesome class!), Greg and the crew at Carrier Transicold and the Managing Members of the Utah BBQ Association for putting on a great class.
Thanks to all who attended (Especially our out of state friends!) and I hope you all gained a little knowledge to help you along with your BBQ.
I met a lot of new friends there this weekend and hope you all felt welcome and will join us often.
Hope to see you all later down the trail.
Mike

Re: QN4U Class
If anyone attended the class and has any ideas about how we could improve any other classes that we have or contests that we run?

1) We will provide grease cans as well as ash cans.
2) We will check on clean up, before, during and after the events.

Re: QN4U Class
This class was totally WICKED!!! Next time there is a class like this, I highly recommend you take it!!! Well worth the time, and money spent on it!!! Brent and Kim were outstanding. I learned a TON from just standing around the ole smoker and chatting. Don't miss the next one.

That sure was good stuff!
