One of the items to come out of General Meeting was the Fire, Water and Ice competition.
There are basically three options for what we can do with it this year, and the board would like the input from everyone as to how the association wishes to proceed.
Option 1) Not hold a competition at Fire Water and Ice this year, but go for a fully sanctioned
KCBS competition at next years event, run by the Utah BBQ Association!
Option 2) Hold a competition, but the prize money will be taken out of the entry fee's, after the associations costs are met, this will return 80% to the winners of each category down to 7th place, and the reserve and grand champion.
Option 3) Hold the competition, and try for additional sponsorship, the prize money may not be know until right before the event, (it would include the 80% of the entry fees), plus sponsorship articles that may be cash, gift certificates or other goods (dependent upon what sponsorship we can gain).
If the competition is voted for, the entry fee is being looked at as around $125.00 / team, there will be a pot luck at 7.00 on the Friday night,
everybody in good standing in the association is welcome, if you want to come and eat, please bring enough food for 8 - 10 serving portions for your contribution to the pot luck!
